MIGRATION OF KURIA PEOPLE.
Though I know less about the Kuria tribe, I am still very proud to share the little knowledge of my own tribe. I was born and raised in a city far away from my own origin, but that did not discourage or stop me from being and going to my roots.
The Kuria are indigenous African ethnic group of semi-nomadic located in Kenya and northern Tanzania. So now you have the Kuria from Tanzania and Kenya. The Tanzanian's Kuria's are found in the northern part of the country from Lake Victoria all the way to the border of Kenya (Sirari), and some had immigrated to the Serengeti areas. They are also divided into different Groups called "Kibhara", such as Nyabasi, Bakira, Bairege, Bagumbe (who reside in both Kenyan and Tanzanian districts), Batimbaru, Banyamongo, Bakenye, Baikoma, Bamerani, Banchari,Bairege,Batimbaru, as well as several others, this groups distinguish what part of the northern they reside, also it breaks down to what they call "Ikhisaku" or "Entrance" such Bahirimbaki, bahirigaini, and the list goes, which also breaks down to what family or ancestors you belong. Let me break myself down, my group is "Munchari" and that's will tell you i am from Northern part called Bhunchari, my Entrance or "Ikhisaku" is "Muhirimbaki" and my ancestors are "Makore son of Kiraryo".
As you can see on the map i have marked the kuria's territories with red. From the map also you can tell the tribe is verry small which strongly established itself on the border of Tanzanania and kenya. They both share the border and river Mara. One will think the river Mara and close to the Lake victoria will make this guys very busy fishing, the answer is NO!! the kurya spend most of their time grazing and farming.
